Let’s repeat last year’s SUCCESSFUL crayfish party!
Come join s for delicious food catered by “A Viking’s Fest”.
(The same caterer that we use for Midsummer and Lucia!)

MENU: CRAYFISH, shrimp, Janssons frestelse, mashed and
boiled potatoes, meatballs, kålpudding (meat loaf with cabbage),
plommonspäckad fläskkare’ (prune stuffed pork
loin), pickled cucumbers, and more.
Dessert and drink are included.

COST for all the food and fun you can handle!
Adults: $14.00/person
Children (10 & under): $11.00/person

Members of the SHS get a special discount:

Swedish Heritage will, as a fund raiser, be selling Swedish candy (several varieties brought from Sweden a few days before midsummer), Marabou chocolate (several varieties like mint, dark, frukt & mandel, apelsin m.m.), Swedish cheeses (präst- , herrgård-, & hushållsost) along with muenseter cheese, Felix lingon berries, hjortron-& blåbärssylt (cloud berry & blueberry jam), saft (a drink concentrate), pear soda, Kalles kaviar, sill (pickled herring), knäckebröd (crisp bread), skorpor (dry biscuits), blåbärs- & nyponsoppa, vaniljsås (vanilla sauce mix), baked goods, books in Swedish and English, necklaces, CD’s, maps of Sweden, Sverigedräkten (folk costume in cotton), fun T-shirts, dalahästar, and TONS of other fun stuff at FANTASTIC prices. We will also have these additional items:
Swedish style hotdogs & Swedish style liver pate.
The store opens at 4 PM!!

Bring a cooler for your heat sensitive goods!

I will be baking Swedish pastries again on Saturday, April 17.

I will bake semlor, wienerbörd (Swedish style Danishes), cinnamon rolls with almond paste, and vaniljbullar (custard filled rolls).
Please place your order by Friday evening.

Just so you know, I bake for other occasions as well. Please let me know if you need a princesstårta (Marzipan cake) or anything else Swedish.

“Spring Soup”

This is one of our favorite activities all year and has become a tradition!! Come and enjoy soups (pea soup & nettle soup, just to mention a couple), limpa bread and knäckebröd with cheese, etc. Semlor is the traditional dessert. We will have the tables beautifully decorated with påskris (birch twigs with feathers).
It will be colorful and spring like.

Cost:
Members of SHS
$4/adult, $2/child (12 and under)
Non-Members of SHS:
$6/adult, $4/child

If you can’t stay and enjoy the food and good company, you’re still welcome to come and shop. Our “Swedish Store” will be open from 5:30-6 PM and then again from 7 PM-closing. We will have the following items available:
