VÅRSOPPA
“Spring Soup”

This is one of our favorite activities all year and has become a tradition!! Come and enjoy soups (pea soup & nettle soup, just to mention a couple), limpa bread and knäckebröd with cheese, etc. Semlor is the traditional dessert. We will have the tables beautifully decorated with påskris (birch twigs with feathers).
It will be colorful and spring like.

Cost:
Members of SHS
$4/adult, $2/child (12 and under)
Non-Members of SHS:
$6/adult, $4/child

If you can’t stay and enjoy the food and good company, you’re still welcome to come and shop. Our “Swedish Store” will be open from 5:30-6 PM and then again from 7 PM-closing. We will have the following items available:

Semlor $2.50/each (sweet roll pasty with almond paste and whipped cream)
Småländsk ostkaka (Swedish style cheesecake)
Vaniljbullar $2.50/each (custard-filled sweet rolls)
Wienerbröd $2.25/each (a custard & almond filled Danish)

This is a great time to stock up on the following items:

Visit with Santa and shop till you drop. There will also be face painting and other fun activities for the children in the gym.

Swedish Midsummer

SATURDAY, JUNE 20
INTERNATIONAL PEACE GARDENS

4:00 pm Bring fresh flowers and foliage (birch
preferably) to help decorate the May pole
5:00 pm Pole raising – Långdans
5:45 pm Program, Games for the children
6:30 pm Dinner – catered by “A Viking’s Feast” – Adults: $10.00, 10 & under: $7.00

Swedish Heritage will, as a fund raiser, be selling Swedish candy, Marabou chocolate (several varieties like mint, dark), Swedish cheeses (präst- , herrgård-, & hushållsost), Felix lingon berries, hjortron-& blåbärssylt (cloud berry & blueberry jam), saft (a drink concentrate), pear soda, Kalles kaviar, sill (pickled herring), knäckebröd (crisp bread), skorpor (dry biscuits), blåbärs- & nyponsoppa, vaniljsås (vanilla sauce mix), baked goods, books in Swedish and English, necklaces, CD’s, maps of Sweden, Sverigedräkten (folk costume in cotton), fun T-shirts, dalahästar, and TONS of other fun stuff at FANTASTIC prices. The store opens at 3.30 PM!!
We will have these additional items in the store at midsummer:
Swedish style liver pate (great for sandwiches), Swedish style hotdogs,

Bring a cooler for your heat sensitive goods!
We’ll have extra coolers for storage during the event, if needed!

We’ll have plenty of cold drinks for sale!

Welcome spring as we sing traditional songs around the bonfire!
Come hungry aswe’ll sell Swedish style hotdogs, masked potatoes and Swedish desserts (semlor, princesstårta, vaniljbullar, biskiver, småländsk ostkaka) at great prices.

If you can’t stay and enjoy the food and great company, you’re still welcome to come and shop.
